NOTICE: Not all browsers are able to download files larger than 2 or 4 GB. You may download individual objects through the "object images" pages, or use a web crawler to download all objects. The "wget" command is able to download the tar files without problems if you use "wget --ignore-length http://aloi.science.uva.nl/tars/...tar", where "..." should be replaced by the filename of interest (see list below).
All collections are in lossless compressed png format. The size of the collection is large: 12GB for the illumination directions (ALOI-ILL), 6GB for the illumination color collection (ALOI-COL), 36GB for the viewing collection (ALOI-VIEW), and 1.5GB for the stereo collection (ALOI-STEREO).
Downloading the full-resolution color ALOI collection will provide you with 55GB of image data. Additionally, we provide downsampled versions, by a spatial factor 2 and 4, yielding a reduction in disk space by a factor 4 and 8, respectively. Furthermore, we provide grey value images (reducing the file size by a factor 4).
Please note that internet connections at universities typically have a bandwidth of 1GB per 20 minutes (at best 0.5GB/min).
